Travel Diary: Portugal - Under the Algarve Sky
Known for its stunning beaches and graphic rock formations, the Algarve is Portugal’s sunny southern region; a place where you can enjoy breathtaking views atop bright red cliffs, and dip your toes into the clear turquoise water of the area’s hidden beaches.
Soak in some sun and take in the most picture-perfect vistas that the Iberian peninsula has to offer. And when you want some respite from the rays, you can visit the local vineyards and sip on cool whites while sampling the sardines, cod, and other regional delicacies brought in by the local fishermen.
Accommodations are often situated in old one-story farm houses surrounded by grape vineyards and friendly dogs. Painted white with blue shutters, their terracotta roof tiles form little hills against the deep blue sky.
Throughout your stay, you’ll likely meet a few of the locals who will greet you in the cheerful manner common to the people of the area. If you get the chance to dine with the townsfolk, they’re sure to offer you some warm olives and fresh bread, along with a side of good conversation.
This season’s Skye collection was captured in the Algarve, but inspired by the patterns, colors, and flair of the world’s most beautiful places. Designed for all women everywhere, there is a Skye piece that’s perfect for each and every one of us.
